Elizabeth Alster (b. 2001) is an artist living and working in London. Through her multi-media installations, Alster is interested in what it means to translate an unrepresented state. To transform a feeling in your spine, a tremor in your hand into a sculptural vessel before you. What gets lost during this translation? And what must remain untranslatable? From sinking bodies to overflowing foam, Alster’s work places you in your chest & asks you to find your way to your throat.
Since receiving her BA honours in Fine Art from Chelsea College of Art (2023), Alster has received funding from the Eaton Grant (2025) to assist with the creation of her work, been invited to discuss her Arts Education work at Nottingham University (2024), & facilitates art workshops for exhibition spaces in SET Peckham, SET Woolwich and a council funded exhibition in Crawley. She has received sculpture commissions from BFI-funded film ‘Out of the Peat’ (2025) & for LFW SS26 Dilara Findikoglu (2026).
Her work has been included in exhibitions - Leisure Centre (2025, Mezzanine, solo show), Second daughter II (2025 the Bath House), Ground (2025, ASC Handbag Factory), Predation (2024 Indra Studios), Finding Place (2024, Crawley), Meat Market (2023, Tanners Hill), Wabi-Sabi (2022, AMP gallery), Prop Room (2022, Safehouse), Waterborne (2022, BLOQS), & Visions of the Unseen (2022, Arthub studios).
Alongside her art practice, Alster is the founder & director of ‘Stage Gallery’, a non-profit exhibition space which has so far offered 11 solo shows to underrepresented artists, including over 20 events in its public-facing programme.
